January 27, 2020
1. Complete the hydrate lab from last class.
2. Practice empirical formulas. You took notes last class right before you completed the lab. You need to practice solving these type of problems.
3. Molecular formulas. You will take a few notes before practicing these type problems.
4. HOMEWORK: Review for Wednesday's Unit 6 Test over Quantities. The test is has 2 parts -- Rose-Prism.org and a paper/pencil portion. It will cover EVERYTHING you were expected to learn in this unit. Here is what you need to do to study for this test:
a. Pull up your RDS account and look at your grades. If I have left you a note on one of your assignments, take care of it BEFORE the start of class on Wednesday.
b. Go through ALL of your Unit 6 notes and review these vocabulary words - empirical formula, mole, Avogadro's number, STP, percent mass, molecular weight, atomic mass, atomic number, molecular formula. If you do not have one of these words in your notes or in your memory, LOOK it up online!
c. COMPLETE the paper/pencil review guide.
d. COMPLETE Chemical Quantities Practice Test 1. You may take this practice test THREE times.
e. COMPLETE Chemical Quantities Practice Test 2. You may take this practice test THREE times.
NOTE: I will be taking TWO items for a grade! You will need to have the paper/pencil review guide and only ONE of the rose-prism.org chemical quantities practice tests. Both of these assignments MUST BE DONE before the start of Wednesday's class.

UPDATE at 10:17 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020
I see that many of you are working on the Rose-Prism.org practice tests. This is AWESOME! I'm very proud of you. I'm a bit worried that some of you are not going to get enough sleep. So let's do this . . .
* If you have at least a 50% on just one of the chemical quantities practice tests, you are good with me.
* You still must have the paper/pencil review guide completed.

1. Unit 6 Test Update! Well, I started grading your Unit 6 test and became quite distressed. I would estimate 75% of you did not do as well as what I expected you to do on this test. Therefore, we are going to spend another day reviewing this unit. There is just no way I can start stoichiometry today.
2. Self assessment of test.
3. Practice problems with teacher
4. Practice problems in small groups or individually.
5. HOMEWORK: The practice problems MUST be done by the START of next class.

March 4, 2020
1. Go over the answers to the limiting reagent worksheet.
2. Review how the test is set up and your teacher's expectations.
3. Review Guide. You will be given roughly 60-minutes to work on the review guide during class today. My expectation is that you will have this review guide finished BEFORE you leave class. I will email your parents on Thursday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. with the review guide key. You will need to ask your loved one to check their email for the review guide answer key. Now, most of you have parents much like myself. Your parental unit will expect you to have the review guide COMPLETED before they will give you the answer key. INTEGRITY my friends!
Several of you shared that I do not have a parent email. No problem! I will personally send you the answer key AFTER you send me a picture of your completed review guide. You will have to send me pictures of each completed sheet before I will send you the answer key. Just remember . . . INTEGRITY!
4. HOMEWORK: Study for Unit 7: Stoichiometry Test
IMPORTANT NOTE: I sent the answer key to your parents. Some parents shared that they received 120+ emails from me. Not good. I only sent it once. Please tell them I'm sorry about that. I'm afraid to send an apology email. What if they get that 200+ times.

Kinetic Molecular Theory - make a COPY of this Google Document BEFORE you start working on it. 3. HOMEWORK: Make sure the Kinetic Molecular Theory Google assignment is completed BEFORE the start of next class. Let me clear up some confusion . . . a. Share your evidence/proof that you completed the kinetic molecular theory assignment by clicking the SHARE button on your google document. Type in my email - lori.young@evsck12.com. Remember, I don't have a Google classroom. b. If the question stem does NOT work on your document, don't fret! Look to the right on this screen. I have posted it for you. |
